Real Homes – Emily & Chris
We are very excited to share the first in our series of “Real Home” features, where over the next few months we will be visiting some of our lovely customers and checking out their completed tiling projects. First stop, Emily and Chris’ gorgeous apartment in Tunbridge Wells. We hope you love it as much as we do!
“The kitchen in our flat is very small but we are lucky to have huge windows that make the space really bright. We wanted to modernise the kitchen, creating clean lines but adding small touches to give the room some character. We went for crackle glazed metro tiles on the wall and grey concrete effect porcelain tiles on the floor, both from www.castelnautiles.co.uk. We chose grey shaker units from Howdens and a wooden counter top to give it a warm finish. We accessorised with a SMEG toaster and vintage scales and utilised the large drawers to de-clutter”. “Our bathroom is tiny; before we did the re-fit there were gloomy grey tiles on the walls and tired looking white floor tiles. We gutted the whole thing and removed the bath. We now have a walk in shower, a concealed toilet and sink unit with built in storage, all maximising the little space we have. There wasn’t a huge amount we could do with such a small room so the main feature is the amazing encaustic floor tiles. We were a bit daring a chose turquoise and blue tiles and set them off with simple white metro tiles with pale grey grouting, all from www.castelnautiles.co.uk. We love the contrast of the simple wall tiles and clean finish of the shower unit with the vibrant patterned flooring. With these changes, the space immediately looks bigger, brighter and fresher! Our David Hockney print complements the flooring nicely too and we’re waiting to hang a vintage mirror to complete the look”.
And the rest!
Now if you’re anything like me, after seeing the gorgeous kitchen and bathroom, you will be desperate to check out the rest of the place! Fear not, here is a sneak peak into the other bright and beautiful spaces that Emily and Chris have created. Thank you so much guys for letting us inside your home, it’s been so much fun!
