Concrete and cement style tiles for your home and design projects

A day doesn’t pass without an enquiry about concrete and cement style tiles for our customer’s homes and design projects.  Many have considered polished concrete and chosen against it for varying reasons. The main concern we hear, is staining.  Apparently stubborn stains like red wine and turmeric are particularly troublesome. If you have a penchant for red wine or Indian food perhaps best to steer clear of polished concrete? That’s probably about 90% of us isn’t it?  This however, does make our job easy because we have such a large selection of concrete and cement style tiles in porcelain as you can see below.  Porcelain just doesn’t stain, it’s so practical. Of course, you don’t quite get the uninterrupted effect of polished concrete but the results from concrete and cement style tiles nevertheless are spectacular.     castelnau-tiles-concrete-smoke-living-bathroom-kitchen     Industrial Porcelain in Ash by Castelanu Tiles castelnau-tiles-unic-silver-living-bathroom-kitchen

Concrete and cement style tiles come in every shade of grey you can imagine. And the great thing is there are endless grey grout colours to match. Concrete and cement style tiles come in very large formats too so that uninterrupted look is pretty achievable.

Take a look at our tiles featured on the uber-stylish blog of Karine Kong of Bodie and Fou fame. Her look is so chic, we love it! She visited us in Barnes with a brief; concrete and cement style tiles for her loft conversion.  After taking several samples home, Karine chose our Y-Stone cement-look porcelain in 60x60cm for walls and floors. It’s a warm grey and just looks fabulous in her Victorian loft-conversion. I’ve just added a lot more concrete and cement style tiles. And it’s not just floors and walls that are using concrete and cement to inspire. I bought this gorgeous vase from Future and Found. See their website for more concrete-inspired homewares. And Heals have concrete inspired lamps and side tables. For more concrete and cement style looks, head here to Design Milk, featuring our Soleras range in the final photo. In a nutshell, concrete and cement style tiles achieve a natural warmth and their grey tones and textures compliment any room.  Don’t be shy, pop in and talk to Liam, David or Mariano at our Kingston or Barnes showrooms. We have many more options on show there. As always, some music for the long weekend. I went to see This is The Kit a couple of weeks ago and just can’t get enough! New album out this month. https://youtu.be/yME_52X20N8
